Why do zombies eat brains?
Wait.
Zombies eat brains.
Not hearts.What if, in a weird symbolic sense, it’s because they are trying to feel alive again? Not in the breathing sense, because they’re undead, but alive as in a human with agency? Trying to get back the ability to think and make decisions and to be in control? Because brains do that. Brains are the control centre and they determine what you do and who you are.
Now, zombies don’t have this control centre anymore. Their acts are purely based on the need to satiate their hunger. They are still alive in the sense that they can move around and such, so a heart pumpin all dat blood wouldn’t be much use. But they are also dead in the sense they are just shells of what and who, they once were.
So they need brains.
Zombies need brains because some part of them long to be people again :0Someone should do this crazy analysis of symbolism in zombie appetites.
